Registraturbildner:Das Amt Voigtstedt gelangte 1452 an die Grafen von Mansfeld. Infolge des Permutationsrezesses von 1579 ging die Landeshoheit an das Kurfürstentum Sachsen über. Ab 1570 war das Amt verpachtet (gemeinsam bis 1626 mit dem Amt Artern). Ab 1627 war das Amt im Pfandbesitz derer Vitzthum von Eckstedt und 1660 derer von Burgsdorff. Seit 1753 befand sich das Amt im bürgerlichen Pfandbesitz. 1808 kam Voigtstedt unter das Amt Sangerhausen und gelangte 1815 komplett an Preußen.
Bestandsinformationen:Die wenigen Archivalien gelangten auf unterschiedlichen Wegen in das heutige Landesarchiv Sachsen-Anhalt und wurden dort 1959 erstmals in einem Findbuch erschlossen.
